The course consists of three modules: lecture, laboratory and field training.
The aim of the course is to equip students with the knowledge of general and systematic botany with particular emphasis on pharmacopoeial species. On the basis of Resolution of the Senate of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University No XXII-39.6/12 of 25 April 2012, i.e. from the teaching cycle 2012/2013:

The graduate is able to learn about: morphological, anatomical structure of plant organs and pharmacopoeial raw materials, selected biologically active compounds present in plants, their action and use. Developing in students the ability to recognize medicinal and poisonous plants on the basis of fresh and herbarium specimens. Developing skills of using "keys" to mark plant raw materials. The classes have a theoretical and practical aspect.
