Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the class, will be to learn and practice applying the sociological perspective (concepts, theories and methodology) to phenomena related to human health, illness and medical institutions. Contemporary challenges, such as health inequalities, ageing of populations (chronic illness and disability), medicalisation (pharmaceuticalisation) of society, lay medical knowledge, doctor-patient relationship, and health policies will constitute the framework for discussion. Students will be expected to work both in groups and individually. The course involves submission of a paper (covering a selected sociomedical problem), which is the basis for getting credit. |
