Skrócony opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) The course offers a survey of problems connected with the concept of ‘representation’ in linguistic studies. The point of departure for the discussion is Noam Chomsky’s idea of deep structure as a level of representation in generative grammar. Then the discussion shifts to the idea of semantic representation postulated by the adherents of so-called generative semantics, a model of grammar developed in the late 1960ties and early 1970ties by George Lakoff, James McCawley, Pieter Seuren and others. Attention is also paid to Anna Wierzbicka’s idea of the Natural Semantic Metalanguage (NSM), an inventory of semantic “building blocks” for facet-based representation of so-called cultural models/scripts (of reality). |
