(tylko po angielsku) The course explores role of culture in contemporary international relations. Various aspects of international cultural relations will include: 1. Basic concepts (civilisation, culture, cultural heritage, cultural identity, cultural policy, cultural diplomacy). 2. Culture as a factor in international cooperation .What is the role of culture in international relation – historically and nowadays? 3. Intellectual debates on cultural international relations of XX/XXI century (Alvin and Heidi Toffler, Francis Fukuyama, Samuel Huntington, Samuel Barber, Edward Said) 4. Culture as a factor of international cooperation. International cultural relations in the age of globalisation 5 UNESCO ( evolution, structure, main fields and forms of activities Institutionalisation of international cultural relations in the United Nations system 6. Culture as a factor in international conflict Cultural heritage during and after the military conflicts Post-conflict recovery and reconstruction – cultural contexts. 7. Protection of cultural heritage in international law. Selected international instruments 8. International cultural relations in Europe. Council of Europe – main activities in the area of cultural cooperation, selected European conventions on cultural heritage and cultural cooperation.
